Pedal Transfers

Left foot accelerators can be fitted to all makes and models of automatic vehicles.

A driver can operate the throttle with the right or the left foot while the other pedal is safely folded up out of the way.

Brig-Ayd flip up Left foot accelerators can be fitted to all makes and models of automatic vehicles.

The system incorporates two throttle pedals fitted to the car which for safety reasons are connected so that only one pedal can be folded down at a time. This means a driver can operate the throttle with the right or the left foot while the other pedal is safely folded up out of the way.

Hoists

This hoist can be used to lift motorised and manual wheelchairs up to 75kgs into the back of most cars, including hatchbacks, estates and some saloons. The boom can be lifted out when not in use, and stored in the boot. This hoist provides a cost efficient solution for those able to swing the wheelchair or scooter in and out manually.

The Telescopic 120kg hoist has automated sequencing that can be stopped or reversed at any time. There is no requirement to guide the wheelchair or scooter whilst loading or unloading. This allows the user to steady themselves during the whole load or unload cycle.

This hoist can be fitted to most estate cars, MPV type vehicles and some hatchbacks.

This hoist is supplied with a power in/out motor to aid control when manoeuvring wheelchairs and scooters in and out of the storage area. Radio control is also available as an option.

The hoist assembly can be easily removed and refitted to the back of the vehicle when extra space is required. All mounting frames are installed neatly to the side of the vehicle and powered directly from the vehicle's battery, which is protected from overload by a fuse and a current limiting device within the main control box. Our specially designed keyhole plates enables easy attachment of the wheelchair or scooter to the hoist.

Please note: In recent years other companies have made almost exact copies of this very successful Brig-Ayd wheelchair hoist, so please beware and don't be fooled in to paying over the top for copies of one of our products.

Hand controls

The unique design of the controls allows easy and unobtrusive fitting to all modern vehicles and offers the user unsurpassed comfort and safety. The controls are fully adjustable to suit the individual and come with the options of protective leg guards, integral rotary or toggle indicator switch, dip switch and horn buttons.

The brake is applied by pushing the control handle directly toward the brake pedal. The accelerator is activated by moving the handle toward the seat, at right angle to the brake movement and parallel, or near parallel, to the rim of the steering wheel.

Generally the weight of the driver's hand and arm is sufficient to maintain a desired speed. Both the brakes and accelerator may be applied at the same time if necessary. This is function is helpful when starting or manoeuvring on severe gradients.

The Brig-Ayd Silver line brake and electronic throttle control has been designed to fit any vehicle which has an electronic throttle system fitted as standard to the vehicle. This means the throttle pedal has no mechanical connection to the engine and all engine speed control is carried via an electrical signal from the throttle pedal.

Once our control is fitted to your vehicle we can reproduce these signals via the use of a plunger or trigger handle attached to your brake lever. The brake is operated in the same manner as our conventional single lever control, by pushing the lever forward. This system allows instant and positive control of the brake and very light fingertip control of the accelerator thus  providing the least  fatiguing driving experience of any of the controls we currently provide .

These steering aids can be used in conjunction with hand controls or on their own to aid the steering control of cars, vans and trucks.

The design incorporates a simple to use release mechanism that can be operated with one hand to remove or refit the handle section of the device to the steering wheel. They are designed to fit modern wheels without causing damage to the wheel's soft outer covering and do not affect the operation of the vehicles airbag. The clamping system is lined with a soft rubber and has a simple two bolt fixing to enable the device to be easily fitted in minutes without the danger of the device moving in operation.

These steering knobs come with a range of grips such as ball, mushroom, tee and peg and can be fitted while you wait

Handbrake Release

The handbrake release is a simple mechanical attachment that fits most vehicles to allow the driver to release the brake latch when finger strength or dexterity is reduced. The lever grip can be tailored to suit the individual requirements of the user.

Our handbrake releases have been developed for people who have arthritis, little dexterity in the hands or any other condition that impedes the use of the handbrake. The easy release has been developed to help pop the button on the end of the lever, and the electric hand brake so that it is only the pressing of a button on a handset to put on and take off the brake.

 Syncro Clutch

The unit can be fitted to virtually any type of car, van or truck and converts a manual gear shift to a semi automatic, totally replacing the operation of the clutch pedal.

No structural modification is needed during installation and simply switching off the system allows the car to be driven with the clutch pedal.

The clutch system can either be used with other driving aids or by itself. The clutch is operated by an electric actuator that operates the clutch via a cable. A button installed in the gear knob operates the clutch when pressed with the driver's thumb.  A sophisticated microprocessor system determines the clutch's movement dependent on a multitude of different factors such as  road speed, engine speed, throttle position, brake operation, etc...

The system is tailored to the individual's driving characteristics via a remote keypad, allowing the system to be 'tuned' by the fitter with you at the wheel.
